Artist Biography

1945 Born in Leiderdorp, Netherlands.
1957 Emigrated with family to Guelph, Ont.
1965-66 Studied Commercial art at what is now Mohawk College in Brantford.
1967-68 Lived in Montreal – worked on artwork, worked as waiter part-time.
1968-69

Worked on artwork at the Rockwood Academy with Joseph Drenters
Joint show with Joseph Drenters at the Rockwood Academy
One-man Exhibition at The Factory - coffee-house and gallery, Guelph.
Married in December, 1969.

Represented by the Ten Mile House in Aberfoyle.

1973 One man exhibition at Peter Hess Gallery, Hamilton.
1974 Worked at Gould Outdoor, Brantford, as Billboard artist.
1975 One-Man show at Gallery 12, Brantford.
1974-78 Attended University of Guelph

- graduated 1979 with Honours BA in Fine Art.
1979 to support myself and family established SunArt Inc, with wife and partner – picture framing, small gallery, art supplies.
1982 One-man show at Gallery One, then located in Salem, ON

Served as chair for Fergus BIA for 2 terms
Served as chair of Elora Arts Council for 2 terms
Chaired Insights Jury Show for 3 terms.
2000 Sold house and business in Fergus and moved to Lake of the Woods with my wife. Resumed painting and drawing until present.
